We meet at 314 Market Street (the old St. John’s building) downtown. It doesn’t feel like your
grandmother’s church (unless your grandmother comes to City Church). We have signs
everywhere on Sunday mornings that direct you where to park, where to walk and where to drop
off your kids (if you have them). In addition, we have a very friendly group of volunteers called
our First Impressions Team who are there to help you find your way and make you feel at home.
Most people who visit tell us that they are struck by the friendliness of the people at City Church.
From the moment you walk in the doors, you will notice that there are people from every stage of
life and every conceivable background. Most people dress casually, including the pastoral staff,
who wear jeans on most Sundays, unless one of them breaks out something a little more dressy
(which is very rare). You will see people dressed in everything from shorts and flip flops to
slightly more “dressy” clothes from some. The most important thing is that you wear what you are
comfortable wearing. God is more concerned with your heart than he is your clothes.
The service is between 60-75 minutes long, with the music led by a contemporary band and a
sermon which our pastors work extremely hard to make deeply biblical, culturally relevant and
immediately applicable without ever sacrificing on biblically and theologically sound doctrine.
Parents of young children are usually glad to know that they can take their children to the “City
Kids” area of the building. A team of well-trained volunteers who have all been background
checked for the safety and well-being of the children, care for newborns through fifth graders,
creatively teaching those who are old enough about Jesus. Likewise, parents of middle school and
high school students enjoy the fact that the church has a separate ministry for kids of that age as
Come and check us out! We think you will find that City Church is not only extremely friendly, but
open to people from all walks of life.
It’s our desire at City Kids to create a fun and engaging environment for kids to learn about Jesus
with solid Biblical teaching by caring leaders.
So, while you are in the main worship service, your child will be participating in an engaging
worship experience designed just for them, with age-appropriate teaching so that they can learn
about Jesus on their level.
The City Kids Main Entrance is located on the Market Street side of the church building, and there
is a drop-off/pick-up area for your convenience.
The first stop you’ll make in City Kids is Check In. We will collect
basic contact information and issue you with a security tag that matches
your child(ren). You’ll need to show this security tag when picking them up at the end of the service. The next time you attend, you will be able to check in at the check-in computers.
